How to Install an M.2 NVME or SATA SSD in Your Enclosure
Overview
This guide walks you through installing an M.2 NVME or SATA SSD into your Sabrent enclosure. Proper installation ensures optimal performance and prevents damage to your drive.
Before You Begin
- Confirm the enclosure supports your SSD type (NVME or SATA).
- Ground yourself to avoid static damage.
- Make sure the drive matches the enclosure size (2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280).
Installation Steps
1. Open the Enclosure
- Remove the screws using the included screwdriver.
- Slide off the cover gently.
2. Insert the SSD
- Align the SSD with the M.2 slot at a 30-degree angle.
- Push it into the connector until fully seated.
3. Secure the SSD
- Use the included screw or rubber stabilizer to hold the SSD flat.
- Ensure it’s firmly tightened but not overly forced.
4. Apply Thermal Pads (If Included)
- Remove the blue/clear film from both sides.
- Place the thermal pad on top of the SSD for heat dissipation.
5. Close the Enclosure
- Slide the cover back on.
- Reinsert and tighten all screws.
Important
- NVMe drives run hotter than SATA and require proper cooling.
- Do not bend or force the SSD during installation.
Troubleshooting
- Drive not detected: Re-seat the SSD and verify compatibility.
